18 May 2013 Has Liddington FINALLY resigned?

Bruce Liddington X Director resigned in April after E-ACT was given a ‘Notice to Improve’ by the Education Funding Agency.  He had been Schools Commissioner under the Labour Government.

Guardian 2012 – ‘Don’t quote me, says Sam Freedman, the tweeting civil servant; the academies loophole; the media shy ex-head of London College of Communication; and E-Act’s Bruce Liddington was there all the time’

Ann Limb at E-ACT said ‘We have overhauled the governance and culture…’

But 12 March 2012 ‘Bruce Liddington, the best paid man in education, who was reported last month to be leaving the academy chain E-Act, is back at his desk, it seems. Liddington was last year paid £280,00, plus £18,000 in pension benefits and a measly £16,700 in expenses.’

GovWatch:  What’s going on Ann?

Well GovWatch there’s:

  • Monthly lunches at the Reform Club
  • First Class Rail travel when the rule states standard class for employees
  • £16,000 on strategy meeting in a hotel plus £1000 drinks bill
  • £393,000 on such things as paying Trustees when it is registered as a ‘Charity’ and Charity Commission says Trustees should not have a financial interest in the organisation.
  • Our founder, Amir Bhatia had to quit in 2009 over “financial irregularities”.

MSM blamed for departure of another from the London College of Communication fold Sandra Kemp.

There was an Anti Cuts activity which contributed to the resignation including a ‘Dear Sandra’ Card.

Mr Michael Gove‘Will the real Slim Shady erm Michael Gove please stand up/down.’ Apologies EMINEM.
